Getting Started

Force & Function Hours, Classes & Appointment Options

When you're choosing an exercise physiology provider, the practical details matter — when we're available, what a session actually involves, and what ongoing support might look like. Here's a straightforward rundown.

Our hours

Force & Function is a mobile practice — sessions are delivered as home visits across the Gold Coast, or via telehealth, rather than at a fixed clinic address. Appointments run:

Monday – Friday9:00 am – 5:00 pm
SaturdayBy appointment
SundayClosed

Saturday appointments are available by arrangement, which may suit clients who can't attend during standard weekday hours.

What appointment options do we offer?

Our core service is one-on-one clinical exercise physiology delivered in your home or via telehealth — sessions built around assessment, structured exercise prescription, education, and safe progression. Depending on your goals and referral pathway, this may include injury rehabilitation, strength and mobility programs, chronic disease management, NDIS exercise therapy, DVA veterans programs, WorkCover rehabilitation, or mental health-focused exercise support.

The right appointment type depends on your current capacity, health history, goals, and the level of support you need — which is exactly what your initial consultation is for.

What happens in an initial consultation?

Your initial consultation is where we get to understand you properly. Before we prescribe anything, we want to understand your goals, current limitations, injury or health history, symptoms, exercise experience, and confidence with movement. Where appropriate, we may complete objective testing — strength, mobility, balance, cardiovascular tolerance, or task-specific testing — giving us a clear starting point to build a program that's safe, individualised, and relevant to your daily life.

Do we offer group classes?

Group classes are something we're planning to introduce, with a particular focus on movement-based support for mental health — structured sessions for people managing depression, anxiety, or PTSD through exercise. The venue and schedule are still being finalised; get in touch if you'd like to be notified once details are confirmed.

These classes are designed to be supportive, structured, and clinically informed rather than generic fitness classes. Group settings tend to suit people who want structured exercise in a supportive environment, would benefit from routine and accountability, or prefer guided exercise over training alone. For clients managing pain, injury, disability-related limitations, or complex health concerns, we'll often recommend starting with one-on-one sessions first, with group classes as a later option once appropriate.

Do we offer memberships?

We don't currently run fixed membership packages. Because exercise physiology is based on individual goals, clinical needs, and funding pathways, a standard membership isn't always the right fit — some clients need a short block of rehabilitation sessions, while others need ongoing support for chronic disease management, NDIS capacity building, DVA rehabilitation, or WorkCover recovery.

Your ongoing plan may include weekly one-on-one sessions, fortnightly reviews, a home exercise program with check-ins, telehealth support, or NDIS, DVA, WorkCover, Medicare CDM, and private referral or private health-supported sessions where eligible. The aim is to recommend a structure that matches your needs, rather than fitting everyone into the same model.

Which option is right for you?

If you're recovering from injury, we'd usually begin with an individual assessment and a one-on-one rehabilitation plan. If you're managing a chronic condition, the focus may be building strength, fitness, mobility, and sustainable exercise habits. NDIS participants often focus on functional capacity, coordination, mobility, and independence in daily life. Veterans may need musculoskeletal rehabilitation, chronic pain management, or general physical reconditioning. If you're after mental health support through movement, a one-on-one program or (once available) a group class may suit, depending on your confidence and preferences.

What to ask before booking

  • Do I need an initial assessment first?
  • Am I better suited to one-on-one sessions or a future group class?
  • Do I need support for injury, chronic disease, NDIS, DVA, WorkCover, or mental health?
  • Would telehealth suit my situation better than a home visit?
  • Do I need a home program between sessions?
  • What funding pathway or referral do I plan to use?
